Depressed and estranged from her family, a Métis journalist named Angeline finds herself slipping from existence – a situation mirrored in a turn-of-the-century book she finds called The Vanishing Indian. In The Edward Curtis Project, Angeline finds herself face-to-face with the controversial photographer obsessed with capturing the Indian way of life he thought was dying out. The juxtaposition of Curtis’s romantic photos with today’s realistic renderings challenges them both to face the cost of seeing.

The Three Clever Pigs - North Shore Theatre for Children

The original play with puppets for very young audiences based on the old English folk tale. This fresh new adaptation is featuring the three piglets- siblings:

Spirit Journey - Le-La-La Dancers

Spirit Journey showcases Kwakwaka'wakw Nation legends, songs, and dances brought to life in an entertaining and captivating manner that inspires and moves audiences. George Taylor has generated an enlightening performance which showcases First Nations culture, history and beliefs through the guidance of his elders. By encorporating new artistic technologies, featuring a large scrim mounted within two traditional carved house posts, a dynamic performance has been created fusing traditional culture with theatre technology. Through lighting design utilizing dancers, shadow images and front projected historical ancestral photographs Encircling our Ancestors-Spirit Journey is a truly unique production.

Tuesdays with Morrie - No Bells and Whistles in association with Third Street Theatre Series

Antony Holland, founder of Studio 58 and winner of three Jessie awards, takes commnad of the title role in Tuesdays with Morrie. Adapted from the book of the same name, the play tells a true story about the ailing Professor Swartz who reunites with his former student, Mitch Albom, played by Joel Grinke, for a few serious and humourous lessons on living and dying.

An aging actress cast in an all female production of Queen Lear hires a young girl to help her memorize her lines. Musing on the different stages of life that both women exemplify, illustrating beautifully how time and experience separate them, this beautiful and touching story about the strength of the female spirit is not be missed. The play features celebrated actor Shirley Broderick and cellist Peggy Lee.
