The Veil is a fictionalized biography of a Persian woman who, through twists of fate and perseverance, comes to witness many of the political and social changes that shaped life in 20th century Iran. Adapted by Shahin Shayadi the play was created and produced by Nova Scotia's OneLight Theatre and is based on the novel Khanoom (The Lady) by Masoud Behnoud.

Green Thumb presents the latest work by award-winning playwright Michele Riml. Souvenirs looks at the divide between generations and the sacrifices parents and children make for one another as an estranged father and daughter battle to overcome their fear of loss and discover the ultimate, redemptive power of love and family.

Depressed and estranged from her family, a Métis journalist named Angeline finds herself slipping from existence – a situation mirrored in a turn-of-the-century book she finds called The Vanishing Indian. In The Edward Curtis Project, Angeline finds herself face-to-face with the controversial photographer obsessed with capturing the Indian way of life he thought was dying out. The juxtaposition of Curtis’s romantic photos with today’s realistic renderings challenges them both to face the cost of seeing.

Tuesdays with Morrie - No Bells and Whistles in association with Third Street Theatre Series

Antony Holland, founder of Studio 58 and winner of three Jessie awards, takes commnad of the title role in Tuesdays with Morrie. Adapted from the book of the same name, the play tells a true story about the ailing Professor Swartz who reunites with his former student, Mitch Albom, played by Joel Grinke, for a few serious and humourous lessons on living and dying.

Queen Lear - Third Street Theatre Series and Western Gold
March 25-April 10 Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8pm, plus 4pm on Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays

An aging actress cast in an all female production of Queen Lear hires a young girl to help her memorize her lines. Musing on the different stages of life that both women exemplify, illustrating beautifully how time and experience separate them, this beautiful and touching story about the strength of the female spirit is not be missed. The play features celebrated actor Shirley Broderick and cellist Peggy Lee.
