A Seniors Create Project and South Granville Seniors Centre Production
Real stories and true reflections about living as a senior in today’s fast-paced age of social media and instant gratification. An original, celebratory exploration.
View From a Window is an original one-act performance created through a multi-year, multi-phase process: from gathering stories and experiences in workshops, touring through seniors’ organizations and care homes, to a Metro Vancouver tour. Explore what life is like for seniors today as we recognize and strengthen the role of seniors in our communities, and celebrate our senior population.
In 2015, a senior family member asked, “When did I become invisible? I walk down the mall, people bump into me, teenagers don’t acknowledge me, people cut in line in front of me. I never used to be invisible.” Is this the experience of all seniors today? Are our seniors becoming an invisible sector of society? To explore these and more questions, the Seniors Create Project was conceived, a partnership with the South Granville Seniors Centre was formed and View From a Window was created.
