Kill the Ripper follows three working women in Whitechapel England at the height of Jack the Ripper’s infamous 1888 murder spree. As the men in power repeatedly refuse to take them seriously, Kit, Pudding, and Viola realize they must teach, arm, and protect themselves. Together they set out to become their own heroes.
Featuring over-the-top fight and movement sequences by Affair of Honor, Alison Jenkins’ original score combining 19th century murder ballads and modern beats, lavish costume design by Joelle Wyminga, gaslit set design by Emily Dotson, and richly colourful lighting design by Christian Ching.
Acclaimed Canadian playwright, Fairlith Harvey places the femme point of view at the heart of her reconceived tale of Jack the Ripper.
“I’m telling a true crime story through a unique perspective that I believe will resonate with other AFAB individuals like me who have been abused by a system designed to keep us down,” says Harvey. “But we’re fighting, always. Even if no one notices.”

Geekenders
Called a “cult sensation” by Vancity Buzz, Geekenders is British Columbia’s pre-eminent geeky theatrical and performance troupe. Producing ‘nerdlesque’ shows, variety shows, fandom-based parties, plays, musicals, and immersive theatre, Geekenders is, first and foremost, about community. Our emphasis is always going to be about providing a quirky, interesting evening full of art, socializing and fun for those of us who might not otherwise spend their Friday at a party.
What can you expect from any Geekenders show? Original performances from some of Vancouver’s favourite geeks, nerdlesque, variety acts, comedy, performers both seasoned and brand new, singalongs, and new and different themes that combine nostalgia, memes, intersectional feminism, and iconic pop culture.
Since 2012, Geekenders has grown into one of the Pacific Northwest’s most successful independent theatre companies. Geekenders productions have been seen by over 120,000 Canadian audience members and over 10 million YouTube viewers. The company mixes glitter, inclusivity, warmth, and irreverent humour to create a dreamy onstage world examining perspectives that have been repressed.

Affair of Honor is a Jessie Nominated fight and movement-based theater and performance company, focused on continuous training in the art of performance combat, ensemble building and multiple mediums of physical theatre.
