Co-Produced by National Theatre of Iceland and Worlds of Puppets
Conceived and performed by Bernd Ogrodnik
What poetry offers to literature, puppetry can bring to the theatre.
Metamorphosis depicts the constantly changing nature of our existence and perceptions through the metaphorical grace of puppets. Nothing remains the way it seems – it doesn’t matter what we see but how we see it. Featuring a cast of the most intricate marionettes and rod puppets carved of wood, and unforgettable characters created simply with silk scarves and the hands and feet of the puppeteer.
Bernd Ogrodnik leaves his audience with images that occupy them long after leaving the theatre.
