While the 25-26 year is coming to an end, we’ve been busy putting plans in place for next year’s offerings. We aren’t announcing to the public for another month, but we know some of you may be planning in advance almost as far ahead as we do, so we wanted you to be the first to know what’s coming in our theatre for young audiences offerings next season!

School Shows: October 16, 2026 – 1:00pm 

Vibrante. Connected. Con júbilo.
Moonweavings
is a puppet show that offers young children a vibrant cultural experience, seamlessly connecting rich contemporary Latin American children’s music—celebrated on stages across the region—with Latin American kids and children hearing this music for the first time. Long after they should be asleep, three young cousins reunited on a family summer vacation transform their beach cottage bedroom into a theatrical haven. Their imaginative play takes them through enchanting stories and Latin American children’s music.

This puppet show offers students an opportunity to:

  • Listening for a sustained period of time
  • To observe interactions between children, in the form of puppets, onstage as they negotiate play
  • Experiencing music and stories from another culture and hearing another language (Spanish)
  • Follow short instructions and respond to prompts
  • Use language, characters, or events from prior experiences in informal play and drama activities
  • Demonstrate an awareness of appropriate audience skills
  • Demonstrate an awareness of drama from a variety of cultures

For Ages 3-7 | Grades K-2

Water Words | Text, staging and interpretation by Mamby Mawine and Hélène Ducharme

School Shows: October 27, 2026 – 11:00am 

Waves. Warmth. Wonder.
Every drop of water tells a story. In Water Words, water connects two friends living worlds apart. Meet Mamby, whose feet burn on the hot sands of Senegal as she walks to gather water, and Hélène, whose toes tingle in winter boots in Canada’s snowy abundance. In this visually stunning production, their vast differences fuel a shared imagination. Through the magic of movement, puppets, live music, and poetic storytelling, Water Words invites you and your children into a playful world where rain, snow, and rivers come alive right before your eyes.

This show offer students a opportunity to: 

  • Listening for a sustained period of time
  • To observe interactions between children, in the form of puppets, onstage as they negotiate play
  • Learn about the environment, in particular the way water is affected by environmental changes
  • See and experience a different culture, and how we build bridges between them
  • The joys of working together and learning from one another
  • Following short instructions and respond to prompts

Every great holiday tradition starts somewhere, and yours begins right here on the North Shore. This winter, bring the whole family together for a fast-paced, funny, and irreverent adaptation of The Sword in the Stone. Get swept up in a world where magic hides around every corner and eccentric wizards duel. Follow the future King Arthur on a wild adventure to discover what it truly takes to lead.
A delightfully fresh take on a beloved classic!

This show offers students a opportunity to:

  • Experience the magic of the holidays through a non-traditional holiday story
  • Build compassion and empathy for the struggles of another person
  • Find hope and optimism in difficult times
  • Listening for a sustained period of time
  • For elementary classes: This show is a wonderful chance for older grades and younger grades to experience a show together! Older students work on their leadership skills by supporting a younger student who might be attending the theatre for the first time.
  • For high school classes: This is a adaptation of a classic story and there’s plenty of opportunity for discussion about adaption, storytelling structure, the use of language, parody and identifying themes.

Where the Wild Things Are | Based on the book by Maurice Sendak

Beloved. Wild. Rumpus.
The wild rumpus is back! Jump right in and help Max transform his bedroom into the many landscapes of his adventures. Sail along together to the land of the Wild Things! This highly interactive production is a guided play experience, adapted from the timeless classic by Maurice Sendak. After 20 years and more than 1,000 performances all around North America, this truly is a classic piece of children’s theatre.

“Let your wild things out” for the first time, or again and again!

This show offers student the opportunity to:

  • Listening for a sustained period of time
  • Follow short instructions and respond to prompts
  • Demonstrate an awareness of appropriate audience skills
  • Build compassion and empathy towards other
  • Practice patience while waiting to take turns during the show
  • Identifying emotions being experienced by other people

For Ages 3-7 | Kindergarten to Grade 2
