We like to bring people together, to celebrate, discuss, and create.  With our Applied Theatre initiatives we seek to build connections within the diversity of our community, to erase the differences of age, culture, gender, and language, and more through play, thought, exploration and mutual respect.

PHT Applied Theatre projects include:

The Firefly Project, bringing professional artist-educators into area schools to work with the very young and help them communicate with each other through writing, drama and art.

Golden Firefly, bringing professional artist-educators into area senior activity centres to help elders to rediscover their creative voices and overcome isolation.

Weaving Our Humanity, with the North Shore Multicultural Society, creating an opportunity for community conversations among the north shore’s wonderfully diverse populace.

First Welcome Hych’Ka,  outdoor performances and workshops with Mortal Coil Performance Society, members of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil Waututh First Nations, North Shore Multicultural Society, NSIIP, North Vancouver Culture & Recreation, and area businesses and artists. A Canada 150+ Project.

In other projects we’ve worked together with the Eslha7an Learning Centre, the Royal Conservatory, and in a supporting role in the NSIIP Anti-Racism Forum.
